I am only a player and not a scenario designer, nor have I looked into that part of the game at all. But what I understand is that the scenario designer gives objectives for PO (formations ?). What I wonder is how flexible is the AI between its given objectives and what happens around it during the scenario ? Will it try to achieve its designated objective before reacting to imminent threats like being surrounded in the process or coordinate and help other formations with their objectives if it will be for the better as a whole ?

What I am trying to figure out is how scripted the AI is versus its ability to react dynamically and be able to counter any expected or unexpected events unfolded during a scenario. Anyone out there who knows more of this ?

Is there any articles that goes through how the games AI work and which things are taken into consideration ?

Thanks!

The PO's objectives determine where it fights. How it fights depends on the code. It will react to threats on its flanks and to being cut off from supply.

In addition to Ben's post, the PO's actions are also dependent upon the formation orders given to the various formations, as well as the strategic bias/orders emphasis.

Hi!

They also have different tracks, but I haven't messed with that yet, so I'm not sure how it works.
