Ok, I think I've read enough from this forum and the manual to attempt a PBEM game and have myself thrashed, humbled by a human opponent.

Allied opponent for stock scenario 16, game patched to 1.8.0.6 (I think that's the latest)

One turn a day.
Fog of War-On
Allied Damage Control-On
Advanced Weather-On
Japanese Sub Doctrine-On
Allied Sub Doctrine-On
Reinforcements-Very Variable +/- 60 days
Historical First Turn-Off (says the scenario designer)
December 7th Suprise-Off (says the scenario designer)
3 Day Turn Cycle
Variable Setup-Off

I'm not a big fan of 3 pages of house rules so if you have any let's try to keep them to a minimum. I don't know the game well enough to exploit anything anyways.

I can do one more game, and I do like playing allies, however I would like auto sub ops off, and one day turns.
If you are OK with that, we've got a game

I can't do one day turns. I'd like to finish a game before the end of the DECADE!

I would like to try 3-day turns. I would like allied subdoctrine off and PDU on however. For house rules I propose the following:

Japanese player may not move units from Manchuria without changing their HQ.
Allied player may not upgrade 2e bombers to 4e bombers unless they do so by default.
First turn only: allied player may not move units from PH.

Hi Marti, 3-day turns are not bad at all. You can do the whole war reasonbly in a year.

Sorry though mate, I've picked up two PBEM games on 3 day turns so that fills up my roster for now. Play you in a year possibly.
