playing a historical wargame. What game do you play for a change of pace. I play C&C Tiberium wars/Supreme Commander. I know their RTS and I really don't care awhole lot for rts but these two are just plain fun to play.

Civ IV is great. However between turns for Witp/GG WbtS I have very little time left except for the two mentioned above.

Been playing Lord of the Rings Online to tide me over until Colonization is released. Might pick up Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI next week.

A variety of stuff really. I like the Tiger Woods golf a lot too, just a pity EA gave up actually developing it. 2003-style graphics really grate now as you could do a pretty much photo-realistic golf game in the DX10 age. Trackmania United Forever is an absolute blast (you MUST download the free 'Nations' version if you haven't tried it, guys.. its the best freebie out there IMHO). I'm currently messing about with the excellent Homeworld 2 BSG mod. From next Friday it will be S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky, the first game was one of my all time favourites.

Good choices

Usually when I'm not playing 'historical' type games (WitP, WPO and HOI2 mostly) I'll end up playing:
Football Manager 08
Battlefield: Bad Company
Civilization IV

There are also occasional forays into:
Jagged Alliance 2
Hitman Blood Money
Tropico
Call of Duty 4
Freecol

I have an overloaded shelf full of unopened RPG, FPS, space sims, flight sims, sub sims, mmorpgs and driving games. I play only few rts nowadays - namely hybrids like spellforce rpg/rts, homeworld series or sins of solar empire.

Last game I finished was mass effect. Currently Im trying to play through alien vs predator gold and wasteland.

Not sure on subscription any more, used to be 15.99 a month may have gone to 19.99.

It is pretty good, the rules are a little different then regular rules. You can play it for free for 10 days if you want to test it out. If you like it you pay and add the code and just keep playing.

My "between WitP turns" time has been filled with Ogame.org lately.

I still have Civ IV and MTW 2 unopened on the shelf.  I am sure I'll dedicate some time to them one day, but for the forseeable future, I'm saving a lot of money that would normally be spent on games.  Long Live War in the Pacific!

I drive trains on the Microsoft Train Simulator, which allows custom engines, cars, routes, etc.
Many people add to the file library on a daily basis and routes cover the entire world, (wherever they have a train.)
Cars and routes can be downloaded for free at www:train-sim.com.

It is not just trains, the entire train community is moddable, so my "world" looks like it is forever 1946-1956, with the automobiles and buildings of that era on my favorite tracks.

The original Microsoft Train Simulator has been out of production a few years, so you can get a copy off the bargain table pretty cheap, but a 2nd (more enhanced) version is coming down the pike.

I'd forgotten about that, it's a good choice as well. I found that a while ago and played it to death on my laptop while I was 'working' I'd fully recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the original.
