I noticed some Tanks have smoke dischargers and ammo for it. How do you use them???

Wow, you learn something new every day. I expect this is revealed somewhere in the manual

Q: Does the smoke discharger constitute a shot, or can it be used at any time - and how does suppression affect its use (he asks having tried to fire smoke to obscur a poor defenceless Sherman faced by a Tiger and not even thinking about using the smoke discharger)

If your level of suppression is too high, you won't be able to do anything unless you can rally back to a lower level. You can fire smoke at ranged hexes up to your visibility, but that requires a shot from the main gun. You can use the smoke discharger on adjacent hexes without having a shot left, as you are not firing a weapon. CJ

If you hit your online hot-keys display option, you'll notice the letter 'D' is conspicuously missing, so it's definitely a key to remember. I wonder where the file is that hols the hot-key data, assuming that a simple user can then add the discharger option to it?
