I've been away for a long time so please forgive my question if it has been answered.

A couple of years ago a bug was identified relating to reconstituted units. The way the game was supposed to handle a reconstituted unit that was "fixed" to a specific hex was that it was to remain unreplaced until that hex became friendly. The game was actually reconstituting it within a few hexes as a "normal" reconstitution. I am curious if this was ever corrected?

Thanks,

Carl Rugenstein

It only occured with certain sorts of reconstitution, as I recall.

Anyway, it's not exactly a bug- it's just not the best way for the feature to work in every circumstance. In a lot of scenarios, this sort of thing makes perfect sense. As such, I don't think anything has been done about it.

I found the original thread. The link is below. Essentially the game does not work as described in the manual so I guess that is why I described it as a bug. The manual indicates you can create a scenario so that a unit does not appear via reconstitution if a specifc hex is occupied by using the "Fixed" location. If this is done the game still places the unit just as a reconstitution that does not specify a "fixed" location. Thus, the manual notes two different ways reconstitution can be done. One does not work as described and the other does. For me it is an important feature to have as it will make it much easier to have essentially an intrinsic garrison that does not come back as long as it's hex is not frindly controlled. It is possible to use an event but it is/would be much easier if the game worked as noted in the manual.
