Heya!

Is corruption simply something to handicap the player or does it affect enemy Empires too? Also, I can't find anything useful about how Corruption actually works in the Galctopedia, unless I missed something.

If it does affect enemy Empires is it always at normal rate? and if it doesn't can we extend the slider for corruption to go to None in a future patch?

I dont believe the AI can 'cheat' in this game. Meaning they use the same corruption rules as the player.

I can't find a way though to see how much corruption the AI is suffering from.  For example I can click their planet and see the population, resources, quality, troops, basically everything, but not corruption.

If you click on the game editor you can click a AI planet and it'll tell you GDP, corruption level and so forth, basically the same as your own planets.
And yes the corruption level does seem to affect the AI same as us, or at least it gets similar percentages

You may wish to zoom in on the planet before you enter the edit mode though as it will reveal the entire galactic map, once you leave edit mode everythings hidden again.

Aha, thanks Vanguard.  I was hoping the Ai did suffer corruption too, but I just couldn't find a way to see.  Now I know, cheers

It's really nice to see that the AI doesn't have to cheat eh
Ofcourse there's room for improvements but this is a tremendous achievement already in "gaming" terms. Lots of strategy games have cheating AI's
I really hate it when they are omniscient and "miraculously" stumble upon something you've hidden very well or "know" without scouting where your defenses are weak.
