Any scope for introducing leaders like in MOO?

Would add an interesting dynamic, to an already awesome game.

I also liked the Galactic Civilisations government model, could be ported into this somehow i guess?

Yap, if MOO2 had the galciv2 model it would have been even more awesome. Obviously, I'd like to see that combo in DW as well.
It's already been discussed and requested and polled, you can see in Igard's poll it's way up there....all it needs now is a new expansion

Ah, nothing close to MOO2 so far. It had the best mix of features. I hope they implement some features from MOO2 like:

-buildings (no much hope that it come to reality)

-firing arcs and mounts for weapons

-all the little gizmos for ships

-a galactic news service

-the leader system

-experience for ship crews

-ship boarding

-terraforming

I think the list is much longer, but this came first into my mind.

There are the planetary facilities. Yes, they don't compare to MOO 2s system, but adding more of them with varying benefits would be great.

Would be nice, but I'm not the first in this line; Can life without it.

Yes! You can never have enough shiny gizmoz and stuff on your ships!

-a galactic news service

Yes! In bigger games it would nice when news would tell about wars, trade-sanctions, sabotages, resource shortages, odd discoveries etc. etc.
Heck, reminds me of GalCiv 2 and Space Rangers 2 (AGAIN).

-the leader system


Definetly yes! I'm quite sure this will be one the features in the next expansion. It has been requested so much.

-experience for ship crews

Maybe. Bonuses should be balanced carefully as this could be farmed/spammed/exploited if the benefits are too great.

-ship boarding

Would be nice. I can see this be possible future feature at some point.

-terraforming

I don't mind the lack of this actually. It should be late-game tach if included.

I'll bore everybody to death with this but the news service in SR2 is AWESOME. It's not just background info, it comes really handy in all sorts of situations.

Aye! Nothing beats the feeling when, in early game, you land to repair your ship on some backwater Malog planet and reading from the news that Keller and its posse just warped in there. I can always imagine the utter fury of the local Malog president when I wave him goodbyes and hit the afterburners once I get to the orbit. Ta ta!

One of the things I did with my database oriented game was to build a log of events, and then spies and other methods of intelligence gathering could mine such information... If an agent went to a certain planet, he might learn that some personage had been there in the past...
Worked pretty well... but I did manage to fill the disks of the time. I ought to try again with the terrabyte drives that are out there...

Ah i forgot two important things:

-random events of different scaling from planetery to galaxy wide events.

-I want to get rid of the damn unwanted alien population

The second thing is really important to me. I hate those bugs creepin around my colonies.

I would like to see something like each race get 5 leaders/royal family (king, queen, Imperial leader, Grand Pooba,  etc.) that have different bonuses (Research, Planet growth, defense, happiness, attack bonus, Fleet Admiral, etc.). You would use them where there they are needed (best use of bonus).

New spy missions
-  to go after leaders (assassinate, bribe, kidnap, ransom, etc.).
New way to win game
- capture/kill all of the leaders of a race.
New troops
- Imperial Guards, Secret Service, etc.
New tech
- planet facilities to train (spy to assassins, troops to guards, and to train leaders with new or additional bonuses.
- escape pod, for ships with leaders

The second thingy has been requested quite a lot. I didn't really think it would be important but in couple of my latest games I really understood it's definetly one of those things that would be great.
As long as I'm not at war with Dhayuut or Sluken I kinda like them, but Gizurreans and Boskara I would turn away right from the orbit. Can't stand those psycho-bugs. Haakonish can get in your face sometimes too.

SW Rebellion was awesome! Or as it was called here in the UK, SW Supremacy, much more apt for us Imperials.

I'll add some of these MoO features to the new poll. It's getting to be a bit of a beast, probably going to have to give you guys about 5 votes each!

And with the editor, you could have variable skills EVEN for the commandos and so on...

OMG I am glad to see people bringing up Star Wars Rebellion (and moo both wonderful games). Love having assassins and what not. Leveling them up and then saying "NOOOO"when they die and looking at their replacements and saying you better live up to them.
