I'm here watching a Kirk Douglas movie named "7 Days in May", and have noticed 2 men getting in a vehicle I have never seen before. Would any of you have any information on it? The time of the clip is at 7:12 minutes.

Looks like the running gear of a Bombardier, with the cargo compartment design similar to the Weasel. Not sure if this was ever a combination of these of a service vehicle, or a movie only mash-up.

Looks to me like its a civilian thinga-mabob that's been stenciled with "Army" on the side. Doesn't look like much of anything.

It looks to me like an American remake of the German all purpose vehicle it begins with Kett?. The German vehicle had treads but had what looked like the front of a motorcycle stuck on it's front for steering.

That would be the Kettenkraftrad, or "Kettenkrad", and this looks nothing like it.

Actually, I thought it was a leftover prop from "Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies!"

I'm guessing just maybe a Hollywood made vehicle from everyone's answers. Thanks for the input!

I didn't say it was an exact copy of the German vehicle. I said it might have been an American attempt at making a vehicle like it.

It seems funny to me that it would be just made up for this movie and a 10 second ride. If they just wanted to have them ride together they could have used a Jeep.

We are discussing the small tracked vehicle on the airfield, correct?

I didn't realize that the book that the movie was from was based in the future ( 1970 ). Hence the M16s that were in the movie. So it is quite possible that they came up with these vehicles in their own minds.
