Seems I can bomb an enemy airbase continuosly and never get a report of destroyed/damages planes on the ground. If I sent FBs as attack airbase, will they strafe after bombing? will they revert to escort is enemy has cap? Is either of these two concepts in the game system?

They should strafe and drop bombs
