Hi Darneoc,

Could you upload a DxDiag for us so that we could see what operating system you are running and how much system memory you have? Does this also happen with smaller galaxy settings?

Regards,

- Erik

Most of this crashes happens in a 1000 to 1400 galaxy in a 8x8 grid, but did get the crash in a 700 star galaxy once too. Running a AMD quad core 3.1, radeon 6850 1g toxic and 4g of corsair 1600 dual channel RAM. Don't think it's a memory prob, but here's my dxdiag.

Hi Darneoc

On a 32-bit version of Windows you should stick to the smaller size galaxies (700 stars and smaller).

On 32-bit Windows you can also enable the /3GB switch to get more memory for Distant Worlds and other properly configured applications. See here for details: http://dwf.blogs.com/beyond_the_paper/2009/04/enabling-3gb-switch-on-windows-vista.html

You can also ensure that you have .Net 4.5 (not just .Net 4.0), which manages memory better.

Thanks
Elliot
