Hi, can someone point me to a post that discusses how to turn off optional rule after a game has started? Thanks

I know that there are such posts, but I am not sure of their name. Is it enough to tell how it is done?

To change optionals in the game you open the optional rules window, and then <right click> on the option that you want to change. The status of the option should now be changed. If it is not changed then it probably is one of the options that may not be changed once the game has started.

It depends on the optional rules you want to turn on and off after the game has started. Some are required at setup but here is a couple posts on how to do it.

Open the save in notepad and the option rules are shown in a red box below right at the start of the save. Turning them on has a '-1' and if not activated they are '0'.

If you want to know which one corresponds to which optional rule look at my 2nd post.

Starting left to right from the previous post '0' below corresponds to the first number, fortifications would be 3rd number etc. Without this list it is trial and error. If you wanted to add internment #56 you would count 57 starting from the left and changing this to -1 if not already enabled. Some optional rules won't work properly if added or deleted after game start.

Any optional rule that adds units to force pools (divisions, the Queens, Siberians, fortifications, factories construction, territorials, partisans, synth oil, AMPHs, probably pilots, unlimited breakdown, others not coded, probably others I've forgotten) should not be changed after the game start. In many cases it won't work, and in all it might not work, causing crashes later in the game.

Anything that does not add units to force pools should be OK.

I doubt that removing additional Chinese cities will work without additional edits of the file.
