How does the game deal with unauthorised device?

Sorry, stuff that's not in the TOE. For instance this unit should not have any Cmbt Eng while another unit has Mtn Guns and should not.

Either. Are they just removed, are they removed by the TOE upgrade (in this case around 201 days time) or are they removed next time another device is upgraded e.g the 18pdr to 25 pdr.

Many japanise units have extra squads/devices not from TOE in beginning of game.
I newer saw those squads being removed from unit during upgrade or rebuilding unit. They always stay with unit until they are destroyed. Of course unit is not able to take replacements for them.

I think it will work the same way for allies.
