Well, after three tries, I finally got it right! The first time, I mistakenly ordered motorized infantry units. The second time, I hadn't realized that I was supposed to dump the embedded 81mm mortars. The third time I finally got it right! I guess the third time is the charm after all.:D :D

The Wehrmacht's best foot soldiers stand ready. Bring on the Russian hords!

The GLorious Red Army Advance across the whole map, ruthlessly pounding the grass into the earth with hundreds upon hundreds of boots. No nazi Invaders are seen as of yet, but our glorious Red artillery gives us a clue to their location as a soul-wrenching scream is heard from the wheatfield where some 75mm shells landed.

The recon forces of the Wehrmacht have spotted a number of Soviet Marine units. Pot shots taken, but no hits. A nearby German Cavalry unit also advanced and managed to eliminate 3 marines.

The current weather conditions, a thunderstorm, are hampering the advance of the vangaurd of the forces of the Reich. That's probably why the armored support we were promised did not show up. KG executive officer suggested jokingly that we request water-wings from HQ. :D:D

Btw, that soul-wrenching scream you heard was due to your atty hitting the wagon carrying the KG's supply of brandy. :D:D:rolleyes:

It seems God isnt wearing any pants today, but the Russian Marines feel at home wading through the knee deep mud under the neverending downpour. With support from their paratrooper Comrades, Several Nazi Machine Guns are found and eliminated. A Cavalry Squadron gets an Introduction to Tokarev Rifles and is forced to retreat.

Our forces have gained some measure of payback by chopping up a couple of Soviet Marine units and a Soviet Engineer squad, as well as sending several marine and paratroop units for a Trotsky.
.:D:D

One German Cavalry unit was badly mauled and a few other units sustained casualties, but nothing we can't handle

The Battle line is drawn across a river going through the whole map. Most of the German squads that dared coss this river have been driven back in dissaray, as Hidden Soviet Machine Guns open up. You loose some MGs and a couple of Infantry Squads. Miscalleneous casualties are also present. Its WWI all over again:)

A word of Caution... keep an eye on your ammo:) Limited Ammo is on and a couple of my squads only have 20 shots to start with. With no Ammo trucks present it should get real mean real quick:)

I've been thinking, and given the size of the map, the fact that we're not calling reinforcements until after turn 10, and that the battle is only 15 turns long, its doubtfull that any reinforcements we do call will make it to the front before the battle ends. Just a thought. (I'll take and post my turn in the early A.M. EST. I'm bushed!)

If you like, this can be the preliminary bout and we can play the 'main event' next. :D

Soviet marines and paratroops are falling like bowling pins. Mangaged to knock off one of those pesky 12.3mm MGs on their little wheels. :D

Over to you Comrade Commissar!:)

Dang! My troops are making progress slower than a snail going through mollasses. If I can't dislodge some of your troops from some 'v' hexes soon, well, I don't want to think about it.:(

You loose a couple of cav and SS squads. Russians are still holding the line at the river.
