I heard they were landing this one in 1960 in the middle of the Soviet Union as well.

Bunch of S-75s were able to land this legend (although with some collateral damage) back then too.

Yeah, I've mentioned quantity (one) explicitly just like the collateral damage.

It was indeed dangerous business, but alas, you have to do something when foreign military aircraft periodically flies through your sovereign airspace.

And that's what the Blackbird was for... 16 miles up, with cameras that could see Murmansk from somewhere over Canada. :-)
