When you capture cities and sites oversea, how MPPs sent to your home country?

Does it requires that a convoy route activate?
If there is none, does it means that you can't gain anything?

Lets take the MPP from Timor. Can they be received by Japan, as there is no convoy route? Same question when you start taking some sites in India and there is no land path between Indian and Japanese holdings in China, can you gain anything?

The Major receives them automatically if there is no convoy.

If there is a convoy, then all MPPs from that country arrive via that convoy.
