Can this newer version of 1115.8.1 be installed over 1115.9?

If I'm not mistaken, this is just the command.exe, Unless some of the other stuff in the .9 update would make it not work, it should be fine, and I doubt that the other stuff would cause that kind of issue.

I rename the old versions before copying over them anyway, so I tried launching last night, but didn't have time to do any testing. Was a bit annoyed because of .9 anyway.

For the benefit of others, I updated to version 9 yesterday, and then did exactly as mavfin suggested, that being to replace version 9's exe file with version 8's version (after the name change, of course).

Everything seems to work as it did with version 8.

The .8.1 version was introduced to roll back some of the issues reintroduced in the .9 version. We are preparing it for official release now. Thanks for the help testing guys, appreciate it.

Yes. .9 was backed out.

I just replaced the .9 command.exe with the .8.1 command.exe, and ran fine last night, fwiw.
I didn't replace or change the rest of the stuff that .9 added.

The devs can tell us if that is the wrong way.

In answer to your question, I copied 8 over 9, and everything seems to work as it did before. As I said, proceed with caution.

If I was you, and if you aren't really doing a bunch of "unofficial testing", then it is my understanding that the company will be releasing a new updated version very soon, so you could just wait for that if you have any concerns.

Everyone should remember that these releases are "working files" which aren't OFFICIAL as of yet. We can't assume that they will be perfect, so until the OFFICIAL version is released, we are installing these working versions at our own peril.

That being said, the company does sort of need us to tell them if their new changes actually work, so it is a two-way street. <G>

Do we have an ETA for when this will actually hit Steam? (I'm already running it, but I'm sure others who aren't as confident with installation would love to know...)

Since you wrote to me, I'll respond.

SurTur wrote the above in Post 4 of this thread, so I have no clue when the new release will be available. I assume that it will be sooner, rather than later.

Sorry, but I don't use Stream , and I have no knowledge about its release times.
