There is no political statement here.

I am looking inward tonight, at me.
I have spent decades making models of weapons. I could have been building the ultimate train layout.
I like to play games that show me options to beat a challenge. A thinking challenge, not a simulation of violence and destruction.

I much prefer to play my board game The Longest Day to see if I can outperform the great military minds of the past at their own skills with mine. Call of Duty does not attract me. World of Tanks/Warships does not engage me.

I want to push chits/counters whether cardboard or digital. I do not need simulated blood gore and sound effects of death and dying. I don't need a human opponent really. I'm just challenging myself here. So if a game isn't hotseat designed, I suppose I'm not getting what I need. I don't care if the AI is ever any good. I don't really want to play it. I'm not telling YOU what you can have, I'm telling the designer what I require.

Tomorrow, the 'plan' is to reorganize my place. Models are all going into a form of storage, demoted from living room status. The train layout is going to priority one status. Wargames are either capable of credible intellectual analysis of me vs me in a study of something that really happened, or I bought it for the wrong reason. I'm going to employ my time devoted to creating the perfect imaginary world (on the train layout), and stop caring what my species is doing with the real one (no one wants to hear me, and I don't wish to offer as well).

I welcome opinions on wargames that are superior designs that possess hot seat a greatly detailed recreation of real past events that actually happened. Turn-based, WEGO preferred. Graphically neutral without dedication to unrequired simulated blood lust.

You won't be aware of this, but, I am hoping to stop watching news obsessively on YouTube :)
I could be playing with my toys instead.

What scale of model trains are you going to build with? I model N scale. Hoping to start on a life long, large home layout in a bonus room of our new house when it's finished later this year.

Nimby Trains.
Its in early access but from the lets play videos on YouTube it looks like its gonna be a keeper. The twist on it is you get the entire map of the world but with all of the train tracks missing so you can start your favourite railroad in your home town.

I should be doing N scale. But my father left me a brass HO CN 6060 Mountain type fully painted expertly (by his hand), and I dream of using it again. I also have a typical steam engine train set in HO which means controller etc. Plus I have a bunch of track and some of my father's old buildings from his layout.

Sooo. Plus, HO is close enough to 72nd scale. I'm retaining 72nd scale as my primary model scale.

And it looks like I might be succeeding in rehoming some of my bigger models to the local gang. Free is hard to beat, and my skill level is expert, so even my finished stuff is worth having. just never painted, no challenge to a skilled hand with an airbrush.

Wish I still had my train set. Lack of space when I moved out from my parents. And their need for my old room.

I am glad that you find joy in your train set.
