I'm having an issue where when I return to my computer after being away awhile the computer has entirely frozen up. Nothing works except doing a hard reboot. This has happened the last two times I've walked away with CMO open and this hasn't happened without CMO. I haven't found any evidence of any error, though. There's nothing in EventViewer, reliability history, or the CMO exception log. There's no minidump file as there was no BSOD.

I can't be certain this has to do with CMO but the coincidence is troubling. This did not happen before I updated to the most recent stable version.

Couple things maybe worth trying
1st - disable screensaver. [does it still happen?]
2nd - disable monitor power-off\down options on inactivity [does it still happen?]

Some users have reported the red[x] issue in cases of the above engaging along with certain cards\drivers\os combos where the video device seems to reinit and the CMO gui seems to lose track of the device after the event and under their circumstances, I don't recall anyone reporting total system lockup however, but I mention the above in case it maybe be related.

Could also try to see if a video card drivers change\update for your card clears it up (at least to the point where the whole system isn't locking up).

Screensaver was already disabled. I'll keep the monitor on and see what happens when I get back from work.

Well, either the graphics update or turning off the monitor's sleep mode did the trick.
