Here's a new one for you. Playing as Russia, no editing. Thanks to my strategic brilliance I have occupied Germany and most of Eastern Europe. The Brits and yanks liberated Western Europe and France is a united country again. Japan is still fighting so I thought I would take the opportunity to invade some other countries a bit while I had the chance.

First stop Turkey. Now belongs to me. Then Iran - all mine now. My plan was to then invade Iraq (which is aligned to allies but not 100%) and Syria. Checking the map I see this...





Syria is 33% axis aligned, yet it is occupied by the UK? I'm guessing this is because of the fuzzy game logic re Vichy France again but it makes no sense. Obviously invading it would be pointless because the UK is already in control. But why is it still aligned with the axis?
