Perhaps this is a tech support issue, but I wonder if it is a game issue. I'm holding Rangoon against a Japanese ground attack. I send a bombardment TF to Rangoon, and they do bombard the Japanese troops, but (horrors) the combat report says that my own "coastal guns fire back!" and many of ships are listed as having taken hits. When I next get a chance to give orders, the ships seem no more damaged than they might be by operational attrition. Any ideas?

There were no Japanese CD's in Rangoon to fire back. Perhaps it was the 2 infantry divisions, but I rather suspect it is a bug.

I tend to agree that it was probably the two target divisions firing back. I know that when attacking a base, the ground forces routinely fire back whether there is a CD unit or not. As for the damage, you would not expect much frome regular artillery pieces against major surface ships.
