...is given a generic rifle sound. Does anyone have a better snd file for this? The German Karabiner98k has snd 567. I'm thinking of giving the Springfield '03 the same sound, as they are similar in design, but would this be appropriate? Anyone have any ideas?

Ok, I decided to use the Karabiner 98k sound for the M1903. They are very similar designs, and I wanted to distinguish between the Japanese Arisaka & the Springfield. Yeah, it's nit-picky, because all of the bolt-action rifle sounds are roughly alike, but what the hey.

did you listen to "used 01 and 02"??

I use one of these for pistols now...the pistols always sounded like pop guns to me before...

Yes, I did, Alby--these sounds are more appropriate for semi-automatics or automatic pistols, not a bolt-action rifle.

Glenn, some people won't want to hear this, but the '03 was a copy of the earlier 98k, and they do sound alike,(for a good reason)..

Thank you, Bob. I made the right choice, then.

Yeah, you're right. These guys are from the 3rd Raider Battalion (Bougainville, late 1943). The caption of the photo stated that this is a demolitions group. These are some hardcore killers, a real wrecking team.
