Does anyone play WPO on a laptop? I've tried to play the tutorial and have had the game do a hard lock. The mouse pointer will move but I'm unable to click. All of the popup info windows appear for the most part and the music is still playing. Ctrl-Alt-Del will exit to the windows screen but the mouse still won't work. I have to shut down completely.

Laptop specs:
1.4Ghz Centrino
1GB RAM
128MB video
60GB HD

I've shutdown as many of the background apps as I can see using ENDITALL. Everything works fine on desktop.

Mike

I play WPO on a laptop.

I had some lock issues (nothing too worrying, about 1 per real life day), but I don't know if playing on a laptop is the cause...
BTW, I always was able to close WPO with window manager...

Try turning off video and sound, maybe?

Are you running it full screen or windowed?

Regards,

I know atleast once when I tried to turn down the sound (I was a work ) on the laptop, that's when it locked. I can't remember if that was the cause the other time it locked. I know I was able to play longer the last time before the lockup.

Not sure what you mean by video, but there were no problems with the animation enabled.

I will do some more experimenting tomorrow.

What I mean is to disable sound and video (i.e. the intro movie) entirely. This is done by locating the folders VIDEO and SOUND in your WPO installation, and renaming them to NOVIDEO and NOSOUND, respectively.

I had the same problem in WITP. I changed the "Sound" folder to "No Sound" and have not had a problem since. Can't listen to the sound at work anyway
