Now you can order badest, meanest, slickest rifle in the world for self defence. Beware wild critters and sneaky neighbours.

Interesting...what would a civilian use that for...other than shooting themselves by mistake?

If you can't hunt animals with it, what good is it unless your in the military or law enforcement.

That's pretty small: 5.56mm isn't a very big round.

The Oscar had bigger weapons.

That's the idea behind the “true” freedom, like it or not. If your nation is armed, government has no way enforcing something on people without starting civil war.

The only difference between this baby and standard one is a modified part to enforce semi-auto fire mode (mandatory for civilian firearms by law). It’s easy to replace "crippled" part and get a full potential from the rifle, though, which will make it illegal.

This post wasn't intended to start anti- or pro- gun discussion. Just to pay respect to the entrepreneur spirit of my neighbours south of the border.

I think it is about 3x as powerfull as the Oscars gun, could come in handy when a burgelar attempts to strafe your house in an Oscar. Just blow him out of the sky with you fully legal "SEMI" automatic home protection devise, this being your "god given right" and all (Silly Yanks ).....

The Purpose of the Second Amendment is to ensure that the citizenry can protect self, protect neighbors, protect community, protect State and protect Country. The ONLY real ruling on the 2nd Amendment in the 20th century from the the Supreme Court was that a weapon MUST be a design that would be useful to the military or it is not protected by the 2nd amendment. ( case was 1939 White vs Texas ( I believe) and had to do with a peson carrying a sawed off shotgun across state lines) The court ruled since the military did not utilize at the present or past , a swaed off shot gun it was not protected by the 2nd Amendment and further ruled that that was the criteria for protection ( which means the 1994 assualt weapon ban was in direct violation of the 39 ruling).

The 2nd amendment is NOT about hunting or collecting or target practice. It is about ensuring the States and the Federal Government have armed people to call on in case of a need for rapid mobilization ( something the States have stopped doing) and to ensure that the population had the means to resist an oppressive government if that became necassary.

The 2nd Amendment is not outdated by the National Guard, nor is the Guard somehow required for ownership of firearms. The Guard is simply the federalized portion of the old State Militias.

The Amendment provides 2 protections, one to the Individual and one to the Individual States. It provides that the individual will have the right to keep and bear arms for the reasons I have stated and it ensures that the States have the right to keep and maintain a Militia seperate from any Federal Military.

It is as valid today has it was in the late 1780's early 1790's when it was thought up. If one does not belief a militia or civilian forces can thwart a modern army one only has to review the current and recently past insurections around the world.

Hey, Two Bribes, did you write this?

"My suggestion is to arrest and charge the politicians and Press that lie, misrepresent and provide aid and comfort to our enemies with treason. Start forcefully spreading the truth. BUY time if the press wont print it or show it. Charge the reporters, editors and such with liabel for the distortions they tell. Forcefully rebut the negative incorrect information spread by those with an agenda"

Sure you did. So you would love to put in jail your own countrymen. My point: I knew I was not wrong about you... and this proves it

Uggh!
What a ugly and expensive piece of junk!
I can pick up about 20 real milsurps for that kind of money!
Or a new MIA and 3 or 4 milsurps to boot.
The FN Five-seveN is mostly hype, and so is that POS.
You should read the reports coming out of Iraiq about how the M16-M4 and 223 cartridge are doing in combat.
That is why they are reissueing the M14!
They are also reissueing the good old 1911A1.
Regards, Gregg

I'll all for the constitution and all, but what situation are you proposing would be a good time to send out the calling all gun owners signal. War? That's what the army is for and I doubt a bunch of civilians with the barest of training are going to be too helpful should the US be attacked. National Emergency? It's a nice thought, but the signal isn't too specific and there are lots of people out there I wouldn't want involved in recovery efforts that might happen to own guns. Civil Unrest? Can't imagine telling people to go get their guns is a great idea during a period of social or political strife. If you can think of a plausible scenario where you would want every Joe off the street who happens to own a gun dragging it to a rally point, I'd love to hear it...

I think Russian AKM assault rifle is still the best all around piece for a freedom fighter. 7.62 mm is able to shot trough M113 side armor not speaking about kevlar vest. Good for shooting trough brick walls and sand bags. 5.56 rounds can’t do this.

You can put AKM onto the pool of mud, take it back and keep shooting. Recoil is brutal especially on auto and it's not very accurate beyond the straight shot distance (i don't remember exactly - 500 ft?) but we were impressed with the amount of abuse it can handle. Of course Norinco copies are of much worse quality, Romanian imports are better, but still not as good as standard issue.

M-14 BTW is a very demanding rifle, requires care and maintenance, but in good hands can do wonders.

Sniper rifle M-21 was essentially an M-14 with superior qualities, during tests they were selected and converted into M-21s. What is no less important than quality of rifle is quality of ammunition.

Sniper round has to be manufactured within some limits; bullets have to be of almost identical mass, amount of gunpowder is important too. This insures that if you zeroed your rifle with certain ammo next time you are going to hit the target from the first shot.

Snipers are of special breed. In Princess Patricia’s Light infantry they used water melons during selection process. Water melon explodes resulting in red mist and chunks flying around, that’s exactly what sniper observes through the scope after the headshot. Many volunteers changed their mind after that. Could be just folklore but that’s what one guy from PPLI told me about snipers.

The Florida Second District Court of Appeals has already ruled that it is not illegal for the news media lie, distort, and misrepresent. Fox News successfully argued before that court that under the First Amendment, broadcasters have the right to lie or deliberately distort news reports on public airwaves.

That's our Justice System..., a much bigger oxymoron than "military intellegence" ever was. What? The Newsmedia should be expected to tell the truth? Or to keep their mouths shut if they don't know anything?

By the way, I hate the "bullpup" design. A rifle should look and "feel" like a rifle. That over-priced "thing" looks like a "Star Wars" toy.

LOL, you guys must be liberals, because you say how biased fox news is (which as a conservative even I will admit it is), BUT, you can't see that CNN, ABC, and all your left wing nwwsoutlets are all guilty of the same stuff.... Dan Rather comes to mind really fast. The only thing Fox News is really guilty of is it pretty much says it is biased, whereas the leftwingers do not.

And on that subject, can this stupid thread gets closed. It's already gun from a gun to gun rights to news to politics.
