Hi, I've just bought this game and I'm having a pretty good time with it.

I have one question, though.
I'm playing as Sweden and my neighbour, Denmark, keep sending army units into my provinces. Not to attack, it would seem (we're not at war), the units just walk right through my land to reach Denmark's provinces in Norway.

Are they really supposed to be able to do that...?

Nothing happens when the Danish forces violate my neutrality - no options to go to war or send them a diplomatic protest or anything. The Danish are just allowed to waltz through my provinces. Right now, a danish army is sitting in one of my provinces right beside an army of my own. And nothing happens.
I know I can just declare war - but then I'll suffer the glory-penalties and Russia will be all over me in a second.

So, is this a bug - or is my neighbour just looking for a fight?

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm using the 1.2.16 patch.

I haven't played as sweden so I'm unsure of what the situation is with denmark. There are a couple of situations in which countries can march over your land.

1. The are violating your nuetrality.
2. You give them passage rights in a treaty.
3. You are allied.
4. You are in an enforced peace after having been at war.

The only one of these that applies to Denmark as a minor power is #1. When a major power violates your neutrality you are given option to dow, issue ultimatum or ignore. I have never seen a minor power behave that way. Hopefully someone having played Sweden will have a better answer.

I've seen this happen. The AI Denmark sometimes feels the need to shuttle its army between Jutland and Norway, and since passing through Sweden is the most efficient way to do this...

It seems harmless, although it may cause forage losses to another Swedish army trying to live off the land in Malmo (?). Other than that concern I would not lose sleep over this.

The other odd behavior I've noticed is Portugal, which likes to send its two combat Ships on "show the flag" missions to some of the most out of the way sea zones on the map. Weird but harmless IMO.

It's true that minor countries can violate territory with impugnity, but this hardly ever happens save with the aforementioned Denmark, and sometimes with Bavaria in the 1792 scenario.
