Given the talent at Matrix for games involving strategic and economic problems, have you ever considered doing a game on the Battle of the Atlantic? I would think the routines in Pacific War could be used without too much trouble. What do others think? Is there any interest in such a game?

I like it. It could represent everywhere where fighting between Uboats and Allied navies occured, from the Murmansk convoys in the North Sea to the oil tanker hunting the Uboats did in the South Atlantic and Caribbean Seas. The Allies player can be graded by how much supply makes it to Britian. A challenging scenario would take away the Enigma information from the Allied player, and find out if you can you win the hard way.

Many years ago S&T magazine put out a game called "Wolfpack". It covered U-Boats attacking convoys throughout the war. Not a bad game. Someone at Matrix could take a look at it for some background on the Battle of the North Atlantic.

Pacific War has everything you would need for a Battle of the Atlantic except armed merchant cruisers for both raiding and convoy protection.
