can some please help. why when i have a carrier task force with 675 planes and all planes have orders for naval attack does the orders phase only send approx 20 planes at the enemy. iam playing as the allied vs computer. also my land based aircraft in the southwest will not bomb jap bases they are ordered to bomb, on the next day the target selection shows commander decision as nothing but i had already selected a particular base to be attacked. also these bases dont seem to launch all available aircraft.i have downloaded all available patches for this game. iam running v1.60,can someone please help me with this? i have tried everything i know to do,ie changing the difficulty level.

Want to check that your Carriers are not out of AV points. Additionally, if you are low on fuel in the Task Force containing the CV's, other ships may be refueling using up all the operational points resulting in none for launching aircraft.

Best thing with questions like this is to post a screen shot of your CV so people can see whats up quickly.

Rule 7.2.2.11 Coordinating Strikes on p.130 of the manual.

Regarding the issue about your LBA not bombing and resetting the orders - do you have anything on computer control? I had similar issues (many versions back) when I had some of the zones on computer control.

Also, check that your groups have as many pilots as planes.

Under 1.6x, there was a limitataion that a group will not fly if there are more ready planes than pilots.

If that is the case, just press "Get pilot" until they are equal.

Rule 7.2.2.11 Coordinating Strikes on p.130 of the manual.

Rule 7.2.2.11 won't affect the number of planes in total that launch, it affects whether or not the squadrons fly together to the target.

quote:

7.2.2.11 Coordinating Strikes

Airstrikes from different bases/ships flying to the same target hex will approach the Target
together if the range to the target hex is the same. This allows aircraft carriers to coordinate their
attacks. However, before the attacks are made, there is a chance that some of the units will
become separated from each other and this may result in piecemeal attacks on the target. In
addition, a unit may escort attacks originating at another base/ship if the escorting unit has a
Target that matches the target being attacked, and the escorting fighter is closer to the target than
aircraft being escorted. Occasionally this can occur even if no priority target is set for the
escorting unit.

The co-ordination of (Carrier) airstrikes is affected by how many Carrier aircraft are based in the TF
launching a strike. The chance of uncoordination is doubled under the following circumstances:
  • Allied TF in 1942 and the number of aircraft in the TF is greater than 100 + rnd (100).
  • Allied TF in 1943 and the number of aircraft in the TF is greater than 150 + rnd (150).
  • Allied TF in 1944 or later or a Japanese TF at any time and the number of aircraft in the
TF is greater than 200 + rnd (200).
Also, in 1942 Allied coordination is generally not as good as the Japanese’s.

Keep your air TF's limited to either two or three CV's per TF and you shouldn't run into the coord penalty.

Also check that you don't have some base set as target for your aircraft on the CV's.
