Mmmmmm.....food. Just got done with a proper breakfast of bacon, slowly rendered and crisped in a 150-yr old cast iron skillet that is blacker than fabertong's head, followed by two eggs sunnyside up.

BTW, I don't know what Australian and English pork is like, but the crap we get in America has to be brined before using any kind of dry heat cooking method or it will be dry and tasteless. The food police have utterly ruined American pork.

Much prefer lamb and beef for that reason only....well, and because they are really good.

Roast leg of lamb rubbed with rosemary, thyme, garlic and EVO mash, then slowly cooked to medium rare in a 325F oven.....errmm.....about 165C.

so, fabertong and Speedy(as you live in England) as a matter of curiosity: i heard (on the radio) that the Stinking Bishop cheese became extraordinarily popular after the latest Wallace and Gromet movie. Have you any experience with it? Is it still in big demand???

Stinking Bishop....lives up to It's name.....a true farmyard cheese.......soft, even runny (when ripe) like a good French cheese.....the smell ...think straw and urine.......but deliciously creamy to taste........As to wether it is still in strong demand ...I don't know......That style of cheese is a bit of an equired taste...........

OK, i give - what does "Det er ligesom fordelen ved at tale et sprog som under 1/1000 af verdens befolkning kan forstå" mean??

Alright, since you asked so nicely:

"Det er ligesom fordelen ved at tale et sprog som under 1/1000 af verdens befolkning kan forstå"

=

"That's the advantage of speaking a language which is understood by less than 1/1000 of the world's population".

Ta-daa!

Well, I figured out the 1/1000 part, although I had no idea what the 1/1000 was a part of.

Ah yes the Bacon! Also this must be cooked slowly with a gentle flame............none of that "put it in the oven" rubbish......pig flesh must be cooked with love.

Raver, What is your approach to roast pork?

3 cloves garlic, pinch of salt and pepper. A few potatoes cut up. Throw it all in a crock pot with the pork. Turn it on high for about 6 hours. Come back and voila, dinner!

maybe it Mother Superior... or a nun making a fashion statement. She wouldn't want to get into the game and ruin her nice outfit by sliding into second!

or maybe there was an accident with the bleach, and she was out of clean habits.

Dear Thread !!!

i've run across that, but i don't recall where (i think it was on TV (movie channel??) and i got a glimpse of it or something). It is obviously a parody of the video of "Addicted to Love"...

i'm still trying to remember where i saw the "Addicted to Love" parody...

BTW - anyone find it strange that Rock Stars go to Paris and die of "heart attacks" at relatively young ages (Robert Palmer, the performer of the video (and i think author of the song) brought this to mind...)

Heart attacks. Yeah, right.

that's been my opinion, too (i.e. they were just called heart attacks)... although i guess you can say all death is because of "heart attack" (the heart does stop beating eventually...)
