Predates Japan's monarchy???

EDIT: Japan claims unbroken line from 660 BC, and there is historical data to back this up from 5th century AD.

I didn't express myself correctly. We have the oldest unbroken line of monarchs, historically documented going back to the early 900's AD.

i am confused -- is Japan's line of monarchs broken? They say it isn't, but maybe you know something more than i do. Their historical documentation is back to the early 400's...

What about the Shogunate.........

Well, from what i understand, the Shogunate still had emperors, but the Shogunate ruled for them so that "the Emperors would not soil their hands with earthly matters", the Emperor being the Son of Heaven. But the line continued even though they were not in charge, although TECHNICALLY they were. Sort of like what Emperor Hirohito was in WW2 - he was emperor, didn't really control much, but *technically* had the last word in decisions.

I'll take that as a yes...

OK - you have 1.5 hours (busy later) - it is now 9:41 am CST.

Same rules as before - make guesses specific as possible...

EDIT: Guess the NAKED ANIMAL contest is now underway!
