The Mod version oobs can be used with version 8.2 on up or any version I guess,If you just want to overwrite oob files, but Mod file is made to work with modswapper which came in version 8.2 I believe. There will be a version released that does not use the vehicle Icons. Excellent. I've been a bit thick lately, not realising that that the Mod editor can edit any mod, so why not 8.3 or others. I'm not comfortable with the modswapper. It took me ages to work out how to use then when I did use it it changed the mods on all the versions I had on my hard drive - like most PBEMailers I have several versions to cater for what's out there. I'm not all that computer proficient (actually I'm computer nonproficient) so after I'd got the OOBs back the way they were I decided to leave well alone. I've decided to try again by putting a version of 8.3 to one side and then downloading the Depot Mod and overwriting all the OOBs. Do you plan to apply Programmers Conventions to all future Depot Mods? I'd like (for purely selfish reasons you understand) to publicise and make popular (by the same method that Gunny is using for his preferred changes) the use of 8.3 with a Depot Mod for PBEM, so as to kind of standardise (possibly in vain, I know) a version that most players will have with the minimum of interplayer negotiations. I think the Programmers Conventions, purely from what I've heard and what Mike Woods has been saying, may be the best way forward. I think 8.3's nation ratings are best for PBEM, since I feel the changes that came after were perhaps better for solo players in the Long Campaign. H2H hasn't been overhauled or worked on for a while, nor do I expect it to be, and it would be nice to see an Update (however unofficial) for PBEM gamers. The simplicity (relatively) of downloading a ready PC'd Mod and inserting it into a version would help it spread. H2H worked, partly for it's Head to Head aspect, but also I think because it was simple. One download changed the game and that was it - easy even for computer dunces like me. I've got a cold at the moment and suddenly I'm wondering if any of this makes sense. The programmers conventions are applied to Mod OOBs you can also use these functions in the oob editor for H2H oobs by the way. Will be including disclaimer. It is ideally suited to long campaigns, generated campaigns and head to head. Strongly recommended, for those purposes, to those who have a means of selecting between OOB sets. Using Modswapper is the best way to do this IMO.. I do not recommend using it for publicly released scenarios or campaigns not written using it.
