Never heard of that before, Ken. Have you tried reinstalling? If you don't want to go that extreme, you might want to try deleting the steel.prf file in the save directory. Sometimes that helps with weird problems. Are you running it from General's Edition? It should have the latest Watchtower patches. If you are running a standalone version of Watchtower, you might want to be sure you have the patches.

Hope this helps.

Hi Ken.

Since you have General's Edition, you should have all the WatchTower patches installed since they are supposed to be included with General's Edition--which is why I recommended reinstalling. I would still try that first, if you just installed it recently and don't have a lot of games in progress. At least it might clear up the WatchTower loop you are dealing with.

You unzip SeaLion into the CAMPAIGNS folder. Each campaign has a specific number associated with it, and you might want to be sure you are not overwriting an existing one you might want to play later.

Keep us posted on how things go.

If the Sealion scenarios are seperate scenarios and not a campaign, unzip them to your SCEN folder instead. If it is a Campaign, follow IB's directions.

Thanks guys. i uninstalled and reinstalled the game and the watchtower campaign works now. the onlt difference is now i am back to version 8.2 but maybe updating it caused the problem in the first place. also i didnt see any difference by installing the the 2 updates any way. what were the supposed to improve?
as for Operation Sealion i think they are two scenarios that someone tried to make into a campaign. ahven't had much success making my own scenarios, but i'm kind of a newcomer to this game. i have played one of the older versions of this before back when it was a DOS game. doesnt seem to have changed much appearance wise. was that on purpose

Glad to hear the reinstall worked. Starting out--don't worry about the updates. Just play the game and enjoy. The updates are more important to the folks who've been playing the game awhile. They are adjustments to the different armies (OOB) and to the game engine itself to improve "realism." As you are learning ins and outs of the game, realism isn't quite as important.

You're probably playing M4Jess's version of the SeaLion campaign. For reasons I'm not sure of, he decided to do it in two parts rather than one. There's another, older version of SeaLion in a campaign as well.

No, the appearance of the game has not changed much. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but it is what it is. In today's world of ever increasing graphics and 7.1 music, I find the hex-based overhead view a refreshing throwback to my AH days. Of course, I'm a fossil in today's gaming world.

Hi,

Had you perhaps upgraded to the latest patch, and then left C&C on? That's essentially what happens to me. Rolling back to an eariler version will let you play w/ C&C on, otherwise you need to turn it off.
