American S-9 - third hit: DD Hagi (Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage) Japanese take Guiuan. The third assault of Bataan: Japanese Deliberate attack Attacking force 164905 troops, 693 guns, 0 vehicles Defending force 52172 troops, 301 guns, 0 vehicles Japanese assault odds: 0 to 1 (fort level 5) Japanese ground losses: 2145 casualties reported Guns lost 76 Allied ground losses: 935 casualties reported Guns lost 7 The Bataan Informer, June 24, 1922 Japanese U-55 (O3) - second kill: PC Eagle 11 (Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage) - near Pearl Harbor. American S-4 - fourth kill: AP Aikoku Maru (Torpedo hits 1) - right inside Sasebo harbor. Japanese SS No. 37 hits AK Taurus (Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage) - outside of Bataan. 3 of 4 Guam DDs are sunk by 11 Japanese DDs. The fourth one split the day before due to heavy damage; it makes it to Bataan safely. There are now only 3 American surface combat ships remaining in PI, all with 40 sys damage or more.
