Sorry for the nuisance Big B.
Skip the Heavy cruisers just for evade possible replays...
Like say csatahajos, don't give them up, your art is great!

Actually center my work on japanese carriers, japanese seaplane carriers and japanese destroyers.
But also make some "ocasional" allied reworks like the BB Renown and CA Baltimore.

No apologies necessary fremen lol!

You do fine work - and EVERYONE'S artwork is needed and appreciated (Cobra,Tanker, yourself, Gary Childress, csatahajos, Oliver, Tomlabel, The Elf, Sarge, JWE, Alikchi...and anyone I may have overlooked) They all add so much.

Well Justin prince (TankerAce) started this off a couple years back with the Allied ship profiles and his art is only a little inferior to the quality you two are producing because of the software he was using at the time. I pretty much still use his art package with the odd exceptions being posted on this forum of late. Aside from the fact that his art is more than pretty darn good, what is more important is the uniformity and the profile and camoflage measure changes integrated into the ship refit database for both stock and CHS. Unsurpassed! I love seeing ships undergo a refit and the camo, profile and weapons change accordingly.

You guys seem to be leaning towards a cooperative effort. What about taking the same approach?

Thanks again for all your incredible efforts.

hi to Big B and Fremen a query if you will bear with me
1 great work with the ship art, outstanding
2 are you both trying to create full sets of each background or a mixed bag ??
if creating full sets I have just downloaded all you work so far and started to break them out as per backdrop into individual style dir's and I find you need to do an Audit
backdrop numbers are not consistent nor are you any where near having complete sets
players will most likly pick a backdrop they like and want full sets (lots more work)
If you create a working dir structure of 1 dir per backdrop to place the art into before zipping up for posting you will also be able to have correct side numbers
(eg Aside0xxx.bmp)
so the players dont have to do any editing of names (creating errors)and just dump which ever backdrop they choose into their art/xxx dir's
I am not trying to be critical here just trying to create a smooth transistion of the art work

suggested dir structure

work area dir
backdrop1
backdrop2
backdrop3 etc etc
and keep the dir structure intact when zipping for posting

To CobraAus:

Thanks! and step by step..

1-YES, actually i'm re-work ALL the artship. I started weeks ago undertaking simply better graphics on capital ships but the contrast (on surface combat) between my/others/news bmb and olddies forced to continue with the rest..

2-and second, now i sending the bmb to ROGUE in zip format and YES, the system is (mainly) to guys that understanding the mechanism of graphics. The name of the file must be changed to WITP standards to function. Your system is a solution but have a (in this moment) HUGE problem. MORE WORKING!!
In main warships i create usually FOUR backdrops. This number was drop to TWO when i undertaking the minor classes like PG, ML, PC, etc... however the work is soooo huge.

My future intention (when finish with the IJN) is make a Graphic PACK.

FREMEN

I believe most of us would like to see the planes on the decks of the ships, (when possible).
Seeing that Japanese seaplane on the AV is really nice.
I believe Cobra did this last year as well, (on flat-tops!).

Hi Cobra! Long time since we chatted! (too long)

I can't speak for fremen, but what I have done for each nationality is to stick with a standard background. If you notice the ships I have posted, each navy is on the same or very similar backgound (and each navy is a little different from the others - so as to give each navy it's own look - but a standard look)

With the Japanese CAs I posted I continued the same pattern - but I also started posting a blank bouckground of each ship so people may cut & paste any alternate background of their choosing. example below.

So my idea was for uniformity - but each force unique.

In this moment NO. But if you send me your e-mail (or by private message) i can send you the carriers on blank backdrop.
I promise, in the future i will put on ROGUE Page also the blank background for the "cut and paste" players...

Wow! All hail fremen!!

Let me say that every one of your ships was well worth the work you put into them, so please keep up the great work! I'll also be interested in cut and paste versions when they come out as I'm humbled to say that my backgrounds don't do your ships the justice they deserve.

I can't decide which style I like better, Big B's style or yours and TOMLABEL's (which I think are sort of similar). I may have to alternate every other week. Although I am (and will be) using Big B's stuff in the mod I've been (forever) working on, in the end, I may just offer two alternate art packages for it between Big B and the stuff you and TOMLABEL have been producing.

Please keep up the great work, all of you!!!!!

Gary

Well, I was hoping to see your Japanese CV art in the combat screen tonight but of course my CVs decide not to launch their SBDs at CVs for some reason (launched Devastators at APs but why launch Dauntlesses at 6 Japanese CVs?. This is why it is smart NOT to have a gun in the house. Elvis shot alot of TV sets!
