Well, we all love Steel Panthers and SP:WAW. That seems to be a given. But I was just wondering what games you play or enjoy when you're not playing SPWAW. And are there any games that are planned to be released in the near future that you are looking forward to? As for me, I play: 1) Age of Empires I and II 2) Civilization II 3) Panzer General I and II 4) East and West Front 5) Sid Meier's Gettysburg! 6) Pacific General 7) Close Combat III 8) The Operational Art of War I and II 9) Imperialism 10) Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri Planetary Pack I'm looking forward to: 1) Civilization III 2) Matrix's games, including: Wars of Napoleon, War in the Pacific, etc 3) Age of Empires Expansion CD 4) Silent Hunter II ------------------ A King Tiger can give you a definite edge...

I have bought many games over the years, but I must admit that I am a Steel Panthers fanatic. This game system is right up my street, and with the limited time I have is the only game that has kept my attention over the years. ------------------ Fabs

My all time favorite has got to be Master of Magic. Any Civ is good, and I really like European Air War, Fighting Steel, and Star Fleet Command (even though it's buggy). I used to play Aces of the Pacific a lot. SPWaW is very high on my list, having erased most of the disappointments from SP1, and getting a huge bonus for being free. I'm not waiting for any new games, because I need to buy a new PC, and there is no money for that for a year, at least.

At the moment its SPWAW for the most part, but these are on my harddrive. 1. War in Russia. The king of wargaming. 2. Toaw 1 & 2. I am planning on picking up ACOW in the near future, if i can get the time to play it. If the game is made by Grigsby or Koger i'll probebly buy it. ------------------ Ever played chess with death Mvh Daniel E. [This message has been edited by Dice4Eyes (edited 07-11-2000).]

SPWAW Definitely number 1! This game just gets better all the time! Then Silent Hunter, and I'm anxiously waitng for Silent Hunter 2. European Air War is my favorite WW2 flight sim, but Pacific Air War Gold is the best for the Pacific theatre I've found yet, though Microsoft is coming out with their next generation of flight sim and it will be in the Pacific theatre. Flying Corps Gold and Dawn Patrol for WW1 flight sims. I have games I bought more than a year ago still in the freakin' wrapper!! A 5 day work week is definitely not fair! We need more time to play! ------------------ Jeff We serve others best when at the same time we serve ourselves.

1. SPWaW 2. SS High Heat Baseball 2001 3. Um, well, that's about it at present. Don't really have time for all of the others I've got. Just wish I had the PC to run Combat Mission...

I'm a long time player of SP and continue to play SPWAW with relish. However the game that is number one in my book is Combat Mission, the new 3D ground breaker. If you haven't seen it (and I noticed no one so far had listed it as a favorite) than do check it out. You can find info and a Demo at Battlefront.com....Look, I know this sounds like a shameless plug....but the Guys who put this out are a lot like the matrix crew...Gamers with a vision....They are worth a look see

1. SPAW - hands down. 2. Age of Rifles 3. Horse and Musket 4. Brian Lara Cricket (yes I know...slightly of the topic, but I still like it) 5. Civ I 6. Armies of Armageddon 7. 1776 8. West Front 9. Wargame Construction Set I - Tanks 10. Battleground series - especially Waterloo, Prelude to Waterloo and Gettysburg They are in no specific order, other than the SPWAW pick. It really does rate. SPWAW and SP2 Civ2 Space Emires 3 (like Master of Orion, poorer looks but deeper play, everyone who likes that kind of game,SE4 out this month, go malfador.com) JA2 Counter-strike HoMM3 M1TP2 EAW Anybody any suggestions of good games, not well known (like SE3) ??

I cant believe any of you guys havent mentioned COMBAT MISSION!! Its really cool 3d WWII combat.. Nothing like rolling in with the shermans pounding enemy positions, watching Gerry scurry away in all directions.. Too cool http://www.battlefront.com/products/worldwar/cm/index.html http://combathq.thegamers.net/ Coolest thing I have seen in years.. My other favorites 1 . SP1 and 2 2 . Civilization 1 + 2 3 . Master of orion 1 + 2 4 . Master of Magic 5 . Halflife + opposing forces 6 . Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri 7 . Sid Meiers Colonization 8 . Close combat series Chris Oh and I know Microsoft is going to screw up Squad leader. Its gonna be like ARMY MEN I bet.. they wont put in blood, swastikas or SS troups.. I mean in combat mission I get a cruel pleasure pounding those blackshirts as they bail out of their flaming STUG3G's.. Anyone ever play that Soldiers at War game by SSI.. SO close.. yet... wasnt.. could really have been great.

OK ... my fav. games at now...For reason that I dunn want to categorise I will write them all in random manner and none of them is better than another in my consideration. 1. Myth: Soulblighter (I play this at net but I will quite someday soon). Allso played TFL. 2. I-War (space simulator game) 3. Archimedean Dynasty 4. Freespace II (another space simulator game) 5. SPWAW (Rather new to this type of playing.I have played few games in SP I and SP III. This means I really don't have easy time making good army nor using co-operation of all troops sucsesfully) 6. Halflive : Counter Strike is good and I have even played it few times online. Now I just can't do it for some darn dl problem... 7. Fallout 2 is only computer roleplaying game I really loved. All Baldurs Gate's & clones suck. They ARE NOT ROLEPLAYING.Not even close and don't come say Im wrong cuz I have played real RPG's for years now. Ofcourse I await for further parts of those space simulators as they represent ultimate core of that genre.Star Wars games are hopelesly outdated in space simulator world. 8. Game wich I will start to play online after Myth Arent those black sunglasses cool? ------------------ I wish I knew how to play this game good allready now.Quite a mess on my battles ;P

ARGH!! Nearly forgot to add Close Combat 2 and 4 to that list of good games. Haven't tried CC3 so I have no opinion on that.

I am also surprised that no one mentioned Combat Mission. I think that it will be a very interesting alternative for all SP fans. I began playing boardgames in the early eighties (ASL, Panzer Leader...) and I am a long time player of SP. My first computer strategy-/wargame was Desert Rats which I played on my Sinclair Spectrum 48k... well those were the days... / Jens Lindh Sweden [This message has been edited by Lindh (edited 07-14-2000).] [This message has been edited by Lindh (edited 07-14-2000).]
