Dude,
1 this isnt personal
2 im doing far more than youve imagined,
so far all youve done is redo what ive done
oh an nice job on the Raiders, but where is your site, your league, your draft profiles
your ratings guides, your entire nfl package, your gloves, your shoes, your chinguards, your authentic number fonts, your upload interface,
and im still beta testing on top of all that, to try to HELP fix the game for the
rest of us.

I never said i was Gods gift to uni design, I am just trying to lay the groundwork so we can all enjoy each others work,

Im chopping down a forest and your coming behind critiquing toothpicks,
dig a little deeper, want to impress me , lets see some bengals or chargers
but to critique what I spent a total of 13 minutes on with the Rams, serves no purpose

If youve got unis to post, Ill gladly host them and go on to the 6 other balls im juggling

I downloaded Bassman's tutorial but am having trouble following it. I downloaded the trial version of Paint shop Pro X. When I open the U6 file for the helmet I can't figure out how to make changes to it.
Is there a more simple way?

Well, here's an early 90's Bengal uniform.

I did this one first because A) it's easier, and B) it looks better anyway. Their current uniform is a mess.

Cool! To be honest, I'm not all that thrilled with the Bengals new Jerseys. I like the one they had in the 90's (espeically the one with the Tiger logo) a lot more then the new Jerseys.

Below are some of my attempts at Florida State uniforms. The first image is something I thought would look good. Not sure if it's really something FSU ever wore. The middle image is my best recollection of an FSU helmet in the late 1960's, circa 1967 I think. I remember watching them play on TV against Memphis State and Penn State (Gator Bowl). I'm sure about the outline of the state of Florida but not sure if the helmet was white or gold. Maybe someone out there can help me with that detail. And then the 3rd image is of a more recent time.

Check out this website:http://www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/ It has the helmet you are describing. It is in the Atlantic Coast Conference section under historic helmets. (Scroll down.)

...and here's a fictional New Jersey team, done in the same style as the default teams. (meaning fairly obvious NFL ripoff)

This is sort of a hybrid Baltimore Colts/Stallions thing. The uniform is pretty much what the Colts wore in their last couple seasons in Baltimore, the logo is a modified version of the Baltimore Stallions from the mid 90's CFL USA experiment.

The Colts Jersey is really nice, I like it. Question though, I'm not CFL expert but didn't the Baltimore Colts of the CFL use Silver helmets, or where they White like you have pictured? I actually like White myself.

Like I said, it's a hybrid uniform. I borrowed from both the NFL Colts and the CFL-Colts/Stallions.

The Baltimore Stallions did have silver helmets. If I recall correctly they looked really similiar to the Dallas Cowboys uniforms. The logo I used isn't quite a Stallions logo either - it's a modified version of it.

I lost some detail in the resizing down to helmet level, but here's my logo vs the real one. The real logo is on the left. My butchering of it to make a generic team is on the right. I like mine on it's own.. but.. yeah, it's not so good next to the original.

That Falcons set looks awesome. Are you doing the entire NFL? I've got the Chiefs just about finished. Just need to make some field art for bad weather conditions.

Here's another one. The logo comes from some NIFL team, but I couldn't find anything at all on the uniform so I sorta improvised and did my own thing with it.

this is an actual team, MY team in fact ill spruce it up with the actual uniforms for you
Eastside Hawks looked like GB but blue
then we switched to a hurricane like style when we went indoor
Im tempted to give you the same lecture you tried to baste me with
over the Rams and Steelers, but Ill just help you out instead, tune back in noonish today

Thanks, I guess I'll go change that then.

As far as lecturing goes - I'm glad you didn't. You'd have only looked like a fool. You can't lecture someone on accuracy when they flat out admit that they made it up. I never claimed it was an authentic Eastside Hawks uniform - I simply stated that I liked the logo but couldn't find anything on the real team so I made something up.

I'm not really planning on a full NFL set. I've just been sorta making teams as they pop into my head. I'll probably do a few more of the difficult teams (current Bengals to go along with the 80's uniform I already did, Broncos, Seahawks etc), but I dont see myself doing the full league. Most of the teams aren't that hard to do. I'm also, at least for the moment, only doing uniforms - no field art or anything like that.

Just a tip re: resizing. I find that instead of resizing down the logos to the helmet file size, it's better to resize the helmet file up to match the logo. Then, after the full-size logo is added to the large helmet size, you can resize both down. This technique seems to keep more of the logo detail intact for me. I think it's because the logo pixels will blend into the surrounding helmet pixels when they're downsized together, but they can't blend in with each other when downsized separately.

...or simply resize the logo on a background the same colour as the helmet.
