Think GTA, but much better looking, with a stronger story element. It takes place in New York from 1945-55, and includes a lot of scenes from the film. The reference to Luca Brassi included the scene from the film, where he tries (on Don Corleone's orders) to infiltrate the rival Tataglia family, and gets garrotted for his trouble. It's not a film clip, but a very well-animated version of the scene.

You don't play one of the characters from the film, but a new guy who has to work his way up the "corporate ladder" in the Corleone family. You get to earn respect, and skill points you can spend to upgrade your various abilities. You have to take care of the family's business in the story mode, and there is also a free roam mode, again like GTA, where you can travel around town, demanding protection money, taking over rackets, etc.

Yeah, lots of people I know have spoken highly of that one... Never liked the Elder Scrolls series much myself, but that's taste for you...

whats TES?

there's no kitty short of Cheetas, Tigers, Ligers, and Lions that can't be PUNTED.

For the above, there's RPG's and M60's

I think i actually have that....a testimony to lack of time....Flight simms you buy then never play and then when getting a new Video card you get packs of games including Elder Scrolls and never play them. I should dig it out.

Well, yeah, especially if you are looking for something with Elves in it (TES-3 is in a land with about 2/3 elves, 50% of of the population being rather disagreeable Dark Elves).

Anyone ever play the 1995 RPG "Stonekeep" ?

i'll never forget the scene with the live actor Elves taunting the main character. Reminds me of some people around here.

Missed that one - what was this scene (i.e. - in what fashion were they taunting the main character? Was it "Your father smelled of elderberries" kind of thing?)
