Coach mode vs CPU using US rules custom league

Near the end of the half my team kicked a FG successfully with 2 seconds on the clock, it was still ticking no time out on field.
I expected the half to end or at least kickoff to the other team. Instead my team got the ball back. Can't remember where the ball was spotted but I think it was the original LOS.
There was still 2 seconds on the clock. I ran one play and the half ended.
