Status: offline 		Early in my PBEM using Nik Mod 5.0, I get this result on 12/16/41:
Force Z against "ONLY" AP's....Yuck!!!

Day Time Surface Combat, near Amboina at 39,73
Japanese Ships
ML Yaeyama
AP Africa Maru
AP Seizan Maru, on fire
AP Siraha Maru, Shell hits 2
AP Somedono Maru
AP Taihei Maru, Shell hits 1, on fire
AP Taizin Maru, Shell hits 1
AP Zyuyo Maru, Shell hits 3, on fire
AP Chinko Maru

Allied Ships
BB Prince of Wales
BC Repulse
CL Danae
CL Dragon
CL Durban
DD Vampire
DD Vendetta
DD Tenedos
DD Electra
DD Express

Japanese ground losses:
11 casualties reported

Opened fire at 22,000 yards and close to 17,000. Then break of....for what?? Must be "tea time!" Your ships "NEVER" fired at me....

Its hard enough as the Allies and now I have this to deal with. I have not complained much...yet.

Sorry for those jokes.. I can imagine your feeleings pretty well.. I already got used to these annoying results. It happens only once a time (at least to me..)

Status: offline 		When you get results like this its best to justify by creating a mini scenario of what could have happened....example.

"Force Z approached invasion force off the coast of Amboina. The jap TF radioed that it was underattack. them the ML laid down an effective smoke screen. The captian of force Z intercepted the call and became weary of LBA out of Davao. After pursing the jap TF for a couple miles with few hits, he decided to turn around instead of risking the queens battleships"


justifying bad results that way..makes the game more enjoyable IMO

Status: offline 		haha..you should see what i did in my AAR when i lost the BB North Carolina near Lunga by forgetting to put a "retirement allowed" order on. Here was my justification for that (yeah i take this game a little too seriously)

Every attempt failed. Meanwhile, around the same time Japanese coastwatchers became aware of the BB's presence in the lingering darkness, and notified southern command in Rabual. The mighty airbase immediately launced all available bombers at the striken BB. With darkness quickly fading, orders were given to evacuate as many personal from the North Carolina as possible via small lifeboats. The AA-crews would be the last to go and afterwards the ship would be scuttled. Only 20% through the evacuation process, 67 Betty's streamed in from the west. Wave after wave of betty's attack the 2 ships. The new radar directed AA system on the BB worked superbly, knocking betty's out of the sky left and right. For 45 minutes the North Carolina fought off it's attackers unharmed. But eventually overwhelming number's overtook the BB, as the Japanese managed to slammed 7 torpedo's into the BB within 20 minutes. Without watertight integrity due to prepartion for scuttling, the BB quickly rolled over on its side and exploded with massive loss of life. The CA Indianapolis then attempted to escape on it's own. Despite the pursuit of 15 Betty's the cruiser managed to escape with only minor damaged caused by a single torpedo hit. With the loss of this newly commisioned fast BB, operation POINT BREAK is hereby suspended.

Yea.., it's pretty dissheartening. You are at least 15 knots faster, and start less than 13 miles away---apparently your pursuit lasted all of 12 minutes. At which point the other side's wizard cast his "invisability" spell and you lost contact. It's called BULLSHIT..., and you will need to get used to it.

AP's and AK's can outrun Surface TF's in this game.

I wuz gunna use her for my next invasion task force.

And there is a reasonable explaination for the lite damage inflicted on the Imperial Japanese Task Force

You see, it was a dark and stormy night, with fog as thick as pea soup...

Yes, that is quite a loss for the Empire.

If I was you, I would have been planning to have a new assault TF led by the ML Yaeyama, 3 PGs + 2 MSW Escorts, accompanied by a squadron of "Petes", protected by covering "Jakes", to seek and destroy Force Z!!!

Now, Force Z will escape...

Status: offline 		At least I am getting a couple of 14" or 15" shells hitting the transports each time.
Both combats have been daylight attacks, so I'm thankful.
The DD's have yet to fire. Range has remained at 17,000 or greater before they break off. Must be the high speed of thoses AP's with high caliber shells going right through them without exploding causing them to be able to avoid "Z Force."
