1. The British Q ships look very interesting, but what is their actual use? Decoys for subs - unlikely. Raiding merchantmen.... hmmmm, LBA would tear them up. Convoy protection?
2. Despite numerous attempts and downloads I still cannot get a clean set of Jap shills so I have numerous Jap AKs and APs with pink backgrounds in combat displays. Can anyone either send me a copy of a set they know works, or point me specifically to aset that work.

Thanks

Roger

I am problem free while utilizing the lastest set of from JWE. Better known as sets 3a and 3b. They can be found at Spookys or TylerRogues sites.

Ok, got them but although it seems to have got rid of some pink backgrounds it has by no mean eliminated them. I also would appear to have a lancer air top that looks like a 4 engined bomber???

Sheesh!

These were intended to lure submarines or surface raidors into range, then attack them with hidden batteries. Not very successful and were soon disposed of. In CHS they convert to regular merchant cargo ships in early 1942. Just there for history.

The idea was a hangover from WW1, when ASW was in it's infancy. They were quite effective while u-boats attacked on the surface all the time, but later in the war, as subs got bigger and better and carried more torpedoes, they became less so.

Thanks Ron, despite some email problems over the weekend I have them all. I have unzipped them into the CHS art folder that i have (I keep CHS as a separate install) and sue enough there they are, your allied plane tops, your allied plane tops alpha, your Japanese shils.... and still I get pink ship backgrounds and still I get 4 engined bomber silhouettes when I have lancers and lightnings attacking....

So the logic is, your set of artworj works for you, but when I put it on my install it doesn't..... and here I just shrug my shoulders and think, what on earth - there is no logic to this at all.

Maybe when the 1.6 (?) patch appears I will start a new install and see if that one works right....

Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

Roger

Why would your configuration cause this? Unheard of. Something really basic is going on I bet. I'm bummed it did not work for you. If you are still getting the wrong art then you don't have the right art packs with the right scenarios.

I know, it defies all logic. Its as if the files you sent were not applied in the right folder .... but I'm sure they were.

Aptop_alpha went into the Art subfolder
Aptop went into the Art subfolder
JapShipShills_transp is a sub folder within Art

Am I missing something thats so bloody obvious I cannot see it? It is so odd this.
