Hey Bill thought I should ask you...sent you an email but thought i would post here too since my email is acting up as of late.
I am in the process of editing some of the old campaigns so they are playable with SPWAW Enhanced.
I notice some have errors even using 8.3 since they are so old.
Watchword Freedom is one I have edited so far...do you have any qualms about me editing any of your old campaigns?
The only editing that is being done is giving units with wrong icons or weapons the correct ones, the basic scenarios are still exactly the same, the way they were designed.
Let me know
Thanks
Alby

Just asking, but if you guys are going over the old campaigns, it may also be worth checking load and weight values: I've noticed in several campaigns that units which beging the game loaded cannot be put back into their transport if they've been unloaded once, because they're too heavy. I think the cityfight in one of the first scenarios of "Utah to the Rhine" has this problem with ATG's that won't fit back into their halftracks.

Not to be imposing, but shouldn't this kind of communication take place by means of Personal Messaging? This is a public forum after all.

The designer can decide to overload a vehicle.

Yes, to overload is a designer's choice. The moral is: once you get off, you can't get back on. Heh, heh. Even after resting for 15 min or so?

Yeah, I rationalized it as something akin to packing too much camping equipment in the trunk of a car: You can do it if you have a spare hour or so, but not in a matter of minutes while under fire. Still, I don't know how many of those instances were intentional or the result of later OOB changes, so I figured I'd drop a line

I have heard from WB, he is in fact glad someone is willing to keep these old campaigns alive.
Thanks Bill!

Sometimes the carry capacity for a vehicle was changed in later OOB's too. The .50 jeep used to carry 4, and was changed to 2, so in some scenarios (Long, Long, Road), a 4 man recon unit cannot remount their scout vehicle. I have also seen 17lb ATG's in halftracks that can now no longer can haul a gun (carry cap changed from 113 to 13 - Long, Long, Road IIRC)So they start mounted, but cannot remount once deployed.

Hey Gobby, in Enhanced the .50 Jeep can carry 4 men again.
I am also edting LLRTV campaign so it can be played with Enhanced....
So far "Watchword Freedom" and the "Balkan Crisis" campaigns have been edited, as well as two great scenarios by you Mr.Goblin
"Worhorses" and "Take the Monastery".
(now if only you would finish Workhorses 2 ...)
hopefully I can get LLRTV done and work on some others.
alot of scenarios in LLRTV in there to edit...

anyone got any favorite campaigns they would like to have playable with Enhanced??

Dutchie is also editing some, or all of his scenarios as well..

Yes, of course -- all the Pacific War stuff, esp Bill's big Iwo Jima scenario and Bruce's Guadalcanal campaign.

Alby, special request for revamp of M4 Jess's "Beyond the Beach" series, and "Band of Brothers" as well.(Don't remember who did the latter but they were a very nice conversion from the book, IMHO....

Pluto water. I've had farts that smelled better.

I lived near Ann Arbor Michigan until 1978 when I moved to LA area.

The wife and I used to take long weekends at the Sheraton (at that time) resort in French Lick.

LA was better than Detroit.
During the winter of 77-78 I had enough of snow. I told the wife we were moving someplace warm. She picked So Cal. 21 years later almost to the day we moved to rural Arizona. THAT was a transition.

I loved the Sheraton. They had package deals including the meals. Like a cruise ship. They had indoor and outdoor pools, bowling alley, putt putt golf, a golf course, arcade (pinball, foosball and air hockey back in those days, lol).

One October we went on the horseback tour. We were the only ones so the guide took us all over the place. Race horse farms, fall trees, it was beautiful.

Personal messages clog the forum with irrelevant informations. This particular discussion has sparked a large number of responses, of course, but these things could be done in a proper public thread.

Goblin, you're missing my point. Public forums are for things of public interest. Sure anyone can post anything, but if everyone does so it will degrade the quality of the forums. Please be responsible.
