I know that AI code is the same, but for some reason AI seems more competent now. I'm playing WWII campain SU vs German, and AI now somehow using armor and infantry together. Before it was cakewalk - kill tanks first with AT guns and later infantry with tanks.
Now tanks carry infantry, or wahtever and arriving all together, infantry suppresing guns and spot my armor, and AI tanks break my line!
Why it was not so before ? :) AI halftraks stumbling headlong into my defence though. If only they would drop infantry and fall back, as in WinSPWW2 (hint, hint :) ) it would be great. Also for gameplay it would be good attach platoon of motorciclers to all armor companies as recon, even then it's not historical.

actually Mike wood worked on improving the AI play somewhat in 8.4 and 8.403
also we tried to improve on the AI picklists, which not knowing all of which formations the AI uses, was difficult at best.

The adjusted experience/morale/leadership numbers will also give the appearance of a more deadly AI opponent in some instances. Its easy (ok, beyond easy) to stomp the computer when he has a rating of 40, but somewhat more fun when he has a 55 or 60.

Yeah I must agree too! Someone added some "magic" to AI or picklists. I just got draw when Japs kicked my poor British troops' back in Walambum... Ok, I lost but I loved "new" way of SPWAW's warfare than original...

Great job guys of Enchanted (right spelling?) mod!

PS. Whatever happened that ACW mod? Does anyone of you did anything for it? Do you remember as you asked me to allow to continue that a long time ago?

They are slightly.
they are still inexperienced in early years of the war, but grow to be pretty tough by wars end.

Hey, Sami. I still have the ACW Mod and am still working on it. Trouble is, David was also working on a version, and I was waiting to see if he was finished. It seems there may be some problems, since he wanted to have the mech.exe file changed some, and Mike Woods basically said, "no". So, if David doesn't release anything in the near future, and I can get the time to add some more stuff, you might see a Civil War this year.
