My M20 armored cars look like prime mover tractors of some sort - both the icon and picture.

Because the Unit Slot that the M20 used to be in now has one of two high-speed artillery tractors. You'll have to do the Replace Unit action in the Deploy screen and pick the M20 unit again in order to get the right unit data. This will happen with a few units in all OOBs...some things were moved around, and some were deleted in favor of new units.

Well, heck! Of course that tractor wasn't bad, it still had a .50 MG.

Warrior, any scenario or campiang created with different oobs will most likely show wrong units icons, or have crazy weapon loadouts
thats why we are editing them..
check out the Depot enhanced scenario/Campaign section for ones that will work with enhanced.
thats where we are posting edited ones and any new ones that desingers create, Dutchie already has a new one there..

I'm beginning to have doubts about designing with Enhanced. Since my aim is to provide scenarios that are playable for the majority of SPWaW'ers, and since Enhanced is not compatible with standard game scenarios (or older ones), I fear I would be leaving most players behind.

Since you are a respected designer the hope would be that you would first make a scen with the current official exe, then make a second version for use with the mod.
Unfortunately that sounds like a lot of work and double the playtesting. The Enh version may not even resemble the stock version.

Well, nobody ever said the Mod would be fully backwards-compatable. Hell, the 8.3 OOBs aren't fully backwards-compatabile.

If the response so far is an indication, many people will play using this Mod, even to the extent of permanently installing all the files into their game, overwriting all the older stuff.
And, as much as we can, we hope to rework a lot of older scenarios and campaigns to work with this Mod.

Personally, I will design for both; I will make scenarios for the vanilla 8.3 version, and sceanrios for the Enhanced version. I'll probably make one scenario, and then "port" it to the other version, by changing what units I need to.

not so sure about that Steve.
the Depot was damn near inaccessible yesterday due to the high number of downloads.
Once it gets played some more, i think you will be surprized.
I think once the word gets out, enhanced will be the definative version players use, as it took H2H a little while to catch on.
but you do what you think best.

since you can install and uninstall at will.
and go back to 8.3 or whatever any time you like, to play the megas or whatever.
you could of course design for both.
or go back and edit some of your more popular scenarios using Enhanced.
If i had designed any, thats what I would do...LOL
I am doing it now and did'nt even design any of these campaigns...LOL!!!!

It will be too much trouble to go back now, especially since I don't bother with the Mod switcher, so Enhanced it is... or nothing.

arrrrg

you say you didnt "bother" with modswapper..

well I would say it is much more of a "bother" to manualy install all the LBMS, SHPs, Sounds, Enc Files, Terrain, Files, Mouse, Battle, and Animation files.
than it is to hit "install" and Uninstall" using modswapper.
I know some of you out there are leary of modswapper, but trust us, the thing is simple and easy and it the safest way to go.
unless of course you dont care to return to the old stuff, then any one can manually install evrything.

Ok I vote you stay with enhanced!!

Hello Warrior....I believe in time, most SPWAW players will be using the Enhanced Mod............It is as radically improved as H2H was, except Enhanced does NOT have to take over your OOBS, but lives "side by side" with the stock(vanilla) OOB's by utilizing the "modswapper".....
It's like having more than 1 shirt hanging in your closet.............
