Yes, I noticed it as well. But I can still highlight and cut-n-paste as usual.

Nope...if I highlight, I see "Copy text to clipboard", "Print selected text", and other options.
Using Netscape 8.1 with Firefox display emulation.

Background is the same color as the rest of the page, a sort of soft grey. Big blinking black cursor for the "start point" of typing...smilies that appear in your draft like they would for real (no more keyboard code). So far, nothing wrong that I can see.

Cut from where? Posted stuff on the page, of stuff I write? No, all I can do is copy to clipboard. If I want to cut, I highlight and "backspace". Removes it neatly.

I used to be able to "cut" my typed text, then paste it somewhere else.
if i wanted to move a sentence or something.
I can "copy" now but can't paste back into my post...

oh well life goes on

I can copy and paste as normal both in the fast reply field and the separate-window post reply. Using Firefox 1.5.0.2 on Gnome window manager.

EDIT: In a related matter, did you know that the word 'gullible' is not in the dictionary? :)

What I said was correct, but it must have looked pretty stupid trying to paste different blocks of text and removing them just to discover that everything is as it should be and had always been. Which is kind of similar to the classic 'gullibility test'.

Hi Guys

Try CTL-V and CTL-C to Copy and Paste.  See if that works.

David

What you actually said was rude. Everything is NOT
quote:

as it should be and had always been.

If you had bothered to read the MANY complaints in the General forum about this very problem, and that memebers of the Matrix Staff are working to fix these things, you might have saved yourself the time wasted making your comment, as well as the time we wasted reading it.

The fact that you had no problem does not negate the other fact that others may have had one; you are not the sole proprietor of knowledge about this, nor are you privy to the inner workings of the forum software that Matrix has installed. You do not know exactly what settings have been used, and whether one or more of them could be the culprit. As has been stated in the General forum thread, the probable issue is a Javascript problem, because similar things have happened in the past when the forum software has been upgraded. Without this knowledge, you could have simply, and graciusly, stated that you were not suffering any problems, and provided the browser and any settings that might be relevant. Instead you chose to insult someone for having a problem. How noble.

To trot out that old, childish "gullibility test" was uncalled for. If I were Alby, I believe I would ask you for an apology.

Hey, I'm discovering that the new format IS getting easier to negotiate, so everything's cool.

Once you get accustomed to it, it IS better than before.  Faster response, too. Nice.

Don't let the jerks drag you down.

Lemme test this:

"The concept of ad hoc "assault squads" had been done as early as Tarawa, but these were improvised from rifle and engineer units. The group that comprised "Forlorn Hope", led by MOH winner Alex "Sandy" Bonnyman, is a classic example.

The G-series Marine TOE formally established a 55-man Assault Platoon for each regiment. This was implemented in the organizations of the 1st, 2nd and 6th MarDiv"

(To Alby -- I just copied and pasted the above from another forum.)

well I can paste from somwhere else using I.E.
but not with Firefox!

so either I can use firefox, copy only things here in my own message box.
but not be able to paste them elsewhere at matrix.

or Use I. E.  and be able to copy from somewhere else, but not be able to
copy from here. unless I use the cntl-C, Cntrl -V routine

It was much simpler before, highlight text, right click, copy- paste
not all this switch from one browser to another, hit cntl this, then cntl that

So I guess that Firefox is out. I dumped it, and went back to IE6.

Alby,
Below are two tests I just did using IE.  Both were done by highlighting the test, right click, copy then paste here.  Of course, this does not help You....

Trip

Copy Test from another site using IE

Sicily - Operation Husky
Colonel James Gavin's 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) and the 3rd Battalion of the 504th PIR parachuted to take the high ground near Ponte Olivo airfield northeast of Gela, Sicily on July 9,1943. Despite the wide scattering of the assault, the objectives were seized and the units linked up with the 1st Infantry Division the next day.

On July 11, 1943, the remaining Battalions of the 504th PIR were dropped in the vicinity of Gela with heavy losses from both the German and Allied (friendly fire) antiaircraft fire. Despite the heavy losses the division was moved up to the front by motor and reinforced by the 39th Infantry Regiment of the 9th Infantry Division on July 12, 1943. The crossings of Fiume delle Canno were secured on July 18, 1943 and the division pushed along the coastal highway, seizing the Marsala-Trapani area of Sicily's western coast by July 23rd.

Copy Test from this site using IE

Since there is nothing there to copy, I do see where I can:

Select All
Paste
Create Shortcut
Add to favorites
View Source
Encoding
Print
Properties

All others are non-selective and there is NO copy command anywhere.  But one pops up when right clicking on other posts.  Hmmm...  Ya may have something.

You're making it too difficult. Look at the line "click here to upload".  I took that picture from my PC, and simply uploaded it.  Has to be in jpg format. Click "embed picture in post" and here it is.

Put a pic you wanna upload on your HD,and use this method.
