Ah - the Crow we were talking about was Crow T. Robot... that would be Crow on the left, followed by Joel Robinson and Tom Servo on the right.

EDIT: i should point out that Tom Servo is in costume, and normally does not dress this way...

I've got another one! I am sitting here listening to the Discovery Channel behind me. They are talking about the Arizona Cardinals new stadium. The footbal field is natural grass and will be moved into the dome for games and then moved out for sun etc.

Not sure about WGN - they were on some local cable access, then SciFi Channel, then Comedy Central...

Ok, my favorite B movie actor (seriously) is not really a movie actor as much as TV. It's that guy that played McGyver and Col what's his name on Stargate SG1. Loved his irreverent since of humor.

That would be Richard Dean Anderson.

Not to be confused with another B-movie guy: Harry Dean Stanton.

Yep. They're trying to climb from their Stealth Fighter/Transport up through the belly of the 747, and BA-WHOOSH, it goes from being a Steven Seagal movie to a Kurt Russell movie. BTW, Mr. Russell should have retired after Escape from New York, he's been on a steep downward slope since then...

But he did Big Trouble in Little China. A classic B-movie.

MENTOS AND DIET COKE REDUX

This is amazing - these two birds spent >$500 on Diet Coke and Mentos and developed some new techniques to get this terrific video:

So, did anyone actually look at this (besides me?)

That was entertaining! i particularly liked the part where Mr. Russell, trying to intimidate the opposition, fires his pistol into the air, knocking loose a large chunk of ceiling which in turn knocks him out!!

CROOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

Servo was my favorite since he was the intellectutal of the group. Crow was good for a fart joke.

The show went down hill fast after they left Comedy Central.

Actually, i think the show folded BEFORE they left Com. Cent. - but the rerun thing did kind of tank with SciFi Channel, Comedy Central, and Best Brains (the actual folks who did the show) all fighting for the rights.

Rhino has been slowly releasing shows over the years...

Right - mostly Cable. It started off on a local cable access show, moved to the Science Fiction Channel (cable) and then to Comedy Central (Cable). It had a run of 11 years (if you count the cable access year) or 10 years US exposure.

Joel Hodson/Robinson and the robots were forced by evil scientists and forced to watch horrible movies, so they would - but would make remarks and voiceovers through the movie. Joel finally escaped and was replaced by Mike Nelson. The Mad Scientists also changed over the years. It pretty much generated extremes of opinion - you either loved it or hated it.

My wife was of the latter: "They're talking over the MOVIE!" i would try to explain to her that it was a really AWFUL movie, and deserved this treatment, but she wasn't buying it...

I liked the Comedy Central days with Joel. Once they went to Sci-Fi, killed off Dr. Forrester, and brought in the Brain Guys the show went down hill.

Best episodes: Manos: the hands of Fate, Lassie: The Painted Hills, and of course, Fugative Alien parts 1&2. Loved the "He tried to kill me with a forklift song"

All this talk about stiff actors makes me think of great B movies. So, who was the best all time B-movie actor?

Bruce Cambell of course!

who else could pull off slamming dishes into one's own head so convincingly??

i don't remember the Lassie movie - i might not have seen it...

Manos was truly an awful movie, and deserved the MST3K treatment (and then some) - but is one of my favorite MST3K episodes. The Fugitive Alien series was also one my favorites, if only for the ACTUAL movie dialogue:

Fugitive Alien #1 (surveying enemy stronghold): "It won't be easy getting in there!"

Fugitive Alien #2 (looking worried): "How will we do it?"

Fugitive Alien #1: "EASY!"

The forklift song is a classic - i actually have part of it on a custom CD!

Kurt Russell rocked in the Thing.....much better than his preformance in "the computer wore tennis shoes"

Actually, i think you could do it better! Be sure to send lots of video of yourself slamming dishes into your own head (and be sure to use the heavy, hard to break kind so it won't look like you are using cheesey props...

The worst movie they ever did was The Sidehackers. Even doing their best the movie was just awful. The shorts were great. Netflix has them on DVD now. Mr. B. Natural was creepy.

Your GF must talk with my wife. I still can't understand why they think this is stupid but watching American Idol or Dancing with the stars is entertaining.

They can watch their "Reality" shows and/or "American Idol" and I can play at War.  To each their own addiction.

i dunno - there were so many to choose from. Sidehackers was Shakespeare compared to one movie who's name i've repressed - iirc, it had Vincent Price, and was shot largely in near-total darkness. i did not have a CLUE as to what was going on - and apparently the MST3K folks didn't either. That was painful to watch, even with the MST3K treatement.

There was another movie (name also repressed to preserve sanity) which featured (iirc) 22 minutes of people CLIMBING UP SOME ROCKS. The Mad Scientists gloated about this ahead of the event, so i timed it.

The Wild Wild World of Catwoman was pretty bad - worse than Plan 9 (imo) - but was great fun to watch with MST3K.

Monster A Go Go was also pretty bad. They apparently ran out of money part way into the movie and just sort of ended it in mid-stream with some half-@ssed voice-over explanation (in the actual movie).

This is great! The site is called "All Squirrels Must Die! Official Homepage of the Squirrel Defamation League."

Top two reasons to hate squirrels include a WITP tie-in :

"1. Squirrels are the spawn of Satan.
They live mysterious lives in the forests plotting against the rest of the world.

2. Squirrels cause millions dollars of damage to power transformers and lines every year.
They are one of the top causes of power outages and damage to very expensive equipment. They seem to be attracted to transformers and fly into them like Kamikaze pilots."
