Are captured ports able to trace supply to friendly ports now, or do you still have to create an event trigger with a supply point? The help file hints that it's enough to have two friendly ports to trace a 'general communication route'. Same with airfields. Truth or dirty, evil lies?

You will need to have a friendly supply point in the hex. These don't necessarily need to be placed by an event trigger. Simply placing one while in the deployment editor will do. If you want to know where the supply sources are for each side, you can load the scenario into the editor, and choose to do a scenario dump, from the File Menu. This will write a .txt file into the Scenarios folder that you can read and see information about the scenario.

What the manual and help files say (roughly paraphrased here) is that you need to have a line of communication to be able to trace supply. This can be of any length, and through enemy controlled territory, but can not pass through enemy units, or their zones of control, unless those zoc's are occupied by friendly units
