I don't understand why Shaun felt the need to close that thread. Is it because Shaun doesnt want that product mentioned? Why the censorship? I didn't see anything offensive or unfair written in there.

At this point. I am undecided whether to buy the latest version of OOTP. I value and trust people's opinion on this board, and I am interested in hearing comparisons between Puresim and OOTP. At long as it is kept civil and doesn't turn into a flame war, I don't see the problem with sharing information and opinions about other games.

Just my 2 cents.

I just think Shaun wants to keep the focus of this board on Puresim.

I can understand that, but I don't think its too much to ask to be able to compare Puresim with the competition, again as long as it remains civil.

It's not uncommon in the genre - SI's forum for FM'06 closes any thread which mentions its primary competitors in a non-constructive way. (E.g., a thread comparing the implementations of *a specific feature* would not get closed, but a thread on 'which is better' gets closed every time.)
