They don't have the manpower to spare to watch someone like me who can see their shoelaces when they glance downward.....unlike in your case Spaminus Eatsalotius

What Tubbsy neglects to mention is the fact that when he glances down to see his shoelaces, he's holding them in his hand!

I have it on good authority that he hasn't seen, or indeed, WASHED, his feet in decades...

you are, as usual, totally incorrect.....ad-homen....non-sequitar.......does not compute ooga booga.

The offer for a race remains. I'd offer to have you pick up the guantlet but there's no crane handy to reorient you once you tumble over.

Heh, the military is a great way to stop being a picky eater. If you've sat in a bush for three days without a hot meal, you'll eat ANYTHING...

Heh. Notice that many military/ex-military eat really fast too. You don't see it or taste it quite as long.

According to Johnny Carson, "They" is the Dick van Patton family.

I'll probably be in another 9 or so years. I don't think I'll ever relearn.

So you're ex-military, huh? What are the details?

Well, it looks like Mogami is going to be sworn in on Monday, and I get to do it.

That's pretty cool. I can't wait.

The big news this morning from these parts is the LT. serving at Fort Lewis who has been called up to be deployed to Iraq. He is refusing because he believes the war is illegal. This ain't my father's miliary.

No bet here, unless you pay me $5 when I screw it up. Half way through my marriage "swearing in", my response to one of the lines was "Huh?" The wife still reminds me about that.

Absolutely. He's joining the unit I spent 17.5 years haunting. I just left it last fall.

Hopefully he will. I can't stand numbnuts who join the military and reap the beneifts of such a move then hedge if the service has the audacity to actually expect them to do the job they signed up for.

Hangover from VietNam.. my era.. you sign on the dotted line, and then takes your chances. My son is contemplating signing that line - probably in the USN - like his Pa. Hope he doesn't get sea sick.

If he wants to go to jail instead, I support his right to do that. If I were in his unit I'm not sure I would want him over there watching my back.

On another note though ever notice how often this issue has come up since the US started fighting all these strange little bush wars.

It's actually not as infrequent as you may think. This guy was just stupid enough to anounce it on nationwide television.
