If I disband a TF in a habour will the planes (floatplanes from a BB or planes on a CV...)from that TF still fly their missions set before or will the planes stand down and do nothing?

They won't fly any missions while disbanded in harbor except training. Never noticed if resting them allowed for quicker recovery in morale and fatigue.

They will replenish their aircraft supplies out of the force pool if the port is sufficiently large enough (I think it's size 3+) and the base is not in RED supply.

Float planes have very high operational losses and resting/reffitting them in harbor is very important.

If your planning an extended stay in port (say you have 20 SYS Damage and don't want to send back to Pearl), remember you can transfer planes (including float planes) to bases and they will run missions like regular squadrons.

A nice strategy for this is to move your float planes off of ships, I do this with CL floats since they mainly work out of CV TFs, and station them on a 0 Lvl air base with an AV on ASW missions. Keep them at 1000' and you'll spot and sink subs. They are also excellent for Recon missions against invasion sites.

I've noticed that if you don't rest or train carrier fighter units while in harbor that they often remain fatigued and and morale does not improve.  Its like they fly missions but do not engage the enemy.

Another thing that has happened was that after transferring squadrons ashore from damaged carriers (20-25 SYS) that in a day or two the squadrons transfer themselves back aboard (unless I move the ship, sans planes, to another port).  This fatigues them (as any transfer does) and slows the rest/morale improvement process.
