Hi Sarge--Could you possibly offer your estimate as to when Eagle Day might be released (in some form--beta, pehaps)? I read the Update Info thread below, but I didn't find any time estimate...Perhaps the year? Half-year? Quarter?...Thanks,

Lee

Ahhh

LoL, I am trying to be honest, so over all, been trying not to offer any due dates, so if we are wrong, we won't have to say, sorry about that

overall, will say, we have knocked out a lot of the bugs were were looking for, most of the major ones

we have added in a ton of new features and ideas (more waypoints, the AI follows the waypoints, improved sweeps, recon)

many new planes, plane models, plus some tricks that are going to make it work even better

new feul system, a pilot training system (right now, it is in the back ground, so is not seen, we may try to add a pop/message letting the player know when training is taking place)

new units, corrected units, deleted some units, looking at adding some new commands, new plane art, touching up some of the map (can't really redo the whole maps) new targets and loctions, the production system has been redone (now to get the AI to understand it)

LOL, I am at the point where I can't wait to play the thing, instead of just watching what is going on and writing notes on things that needs to be worked on

we have 2 major stumbling blocks in the way right now, and both are being worked on, after those are finished, maybe we can start talking dates

Hi Sarge -
This sounds great! I've eagerly joined the ranks those waiting for the re-release of BTR. Can you update us on the progress made on the 2 major stumbling blocks? What still needs to be done? Are you still adding features, or are buttoning things down for release? Can we expect to be playing this by Halloween, or maybe Christmas? Thanks and keep up the great work!

Welllllll

the stubbling blocks are finished, still got some stuff we waiting on

over all we still working on some of the bugs/features that needed to be done (there were bugs that most players never got a chance to see unless they got really deep into the game)

Good question on when, I am not sure, I know where we are at, but then we have to turn the game over so other areas can be worked on (menus and screens and get it up to Matrix's standards and what not)

so that kind of stuff I have no idea of as to how long it may take, but the rest of it is pretty close

Wow.....I've been watching development of this game for nearly 3 years! I think Matrix got the rights to it in Fall 2005.

I have the original games, but I never play them. I like the CONCEPT of controlling the air war in WW2, but I could never get into the execution of these titles. The UI is too fiddly, or to much micro-management, or too graphically bland.

What are the MAJOR differences between the new title and the old? I could care less about pilot names.

major?

Ummm... the fixed upgrade paths between AC types are now dynamic, and replacement rates more varied (you stop getting obsolete types when a replacement arrives)
All AC perform differently at different altitudes (either by bonuses or penalties)
Mission planning now has 2 more waypoints to get around the flak better (sorry, more micro-management)
The map is now the full screen width, allowing the allied BTR player to see from east-anglia to berlin (used to be barely into germany). I know this is going to dissapoint some people, but we had to fix the screen res to 1024*768, the engine just didn't allow for a dynamic size. At least it's better than 800*600

And the major, major one...

Returning fighters and fighter bombers can now defend - and attack, though with some limitations.

Thanks for your response. What about the AI? Have you made any improvements in that area?

What about allied movements? is it possible now in the new version to shuttle BGs from a group to a different command? That`s an important feature that I think deserve to get fixed

I'm still wondering if any tweaks have been done here.
