While thoroughly enjoying my Washington National's season I started to notice pitcher's seemed to bat better than they should. I did a cursory check of batting averages, in the game and in real life, and the game average seems about 60 to 100 points higher. I play every Washington game and am into July in my season. Anyone else notice this or is it just a fluke?

I would agree with this post.Am playing 1952 season as Dodgers--manage all their games-- while I have not compiled any significant data; based on my observations I would agree that pitchers appear to hit above real life averages.I will continue to track this in a more formal manner.

I would say its just a fluke. Have a look at the end of the season and they should pretty much be in line with real life.

Burleigh Grimes hit over .600 for me in the WS ;-)

But seriously, seasonwise I think for the most part looking back on my league file they did about average (although I do see a couple .300+ pitchers).

One thing I did notice were the SAC Bunt completions seemed very low. What factor covers bunting? How does the game distinguish between a good and a poor bunter?

Pitchers batting averages seem high to me as well.  I just completed my 1927 season and here are the averages for my starters.  Remember their contact rating is 2/20.

William Cooper - 266
Emil Yde - 261
Lee Meadows - 256
Alex Ferguson - 214
Lee Kolp - 135
