newbie having trouble after clicking to select a unit and examining a report I dont know how to "deselect" it without moving it as moving the cursor to another location moves the unit.

Find another unit on your side and click it. That way it's now the one available to move. There will always be focus on a unit on your side, I believe.

yeah I struggled with that too... but after a little getting used to, its alright that way. since the right mouse button is solely for moving the selected unit, it doesnt annoy me anymore.

just get used to it, thats the way the banana splits
